Fall Thematic Activities Week 7 Plans

This is a template for lesson plans during fall week of school. Pick and choose
what ideas and resources work for your learners.
 

Fall – Whole Group

These resources can be used during whole group instruction for a fall theme.
They include a poem, word cards, tracing page and table sign in sheets.
 

Fall Interactive Poem

Use this poem during a thematic lesson, whole group or a literacy center and
have learners match the poem based the color words.
 

Fall Thematic Plans

Use these plans as a guide for engaging fall read alouds and activities in the
classroom.
 

Seasons

Read “Watching the Seasons” and complete the season sort on chart paper
together. Have learners create a four seasons book.
 

Fall

Read “It’s Fall” and complete a T-chart before and after a class fall walk outside.
Have learners collect “fall items” in a baggie.
 

Leaves

Read “Why Do Leaves Change Colors?” and complete the Autumn Leaves
experiment together.
 

My Leaf

Read “Autumn Leaves” and sort through different leaves together. Have learners
complete the All About My Leaf page with a leaf from the fall walk or from home
(parent note included)
 

Fall Art

Read “Leaf Man” and have learners make a creation with a leaf.
 

Fall Sensory Charts

Explore the farm with the five senses. Complete the charts together and have
learners draw and write about the fall using their senses on the interactive page.
 

Fall Predictable Chart Class Book

Use this resource to create a class book from the predictable chart created
during the week.
 

Literacy Center | Initial Sound

Have learners clip the initial sound in each word with a clothespin.
 

Literacy Center | Letter Sort

Have learners sort the letters by uppercase and lowercase.
 

Literacy Center | Rhyming Center

Have learners match the acorns by their rhyming words.
 

Math Center | Counting Cards

Have learners count out the correct number of acorns. Use printable or artificial
acorns.
 

Math Center | Fall Counting

Have learners count the picture and clip the correct number.
 

Math Center | Number Pocket Chart

Have learners match the number cards on the pocket chart.
